Rice Cooker Shoyu Pork Rice

Here’s an easy-to-make and 30 minutes recipe for you to enjoy the grilled pork slices that are covered with caramelized shoyu with healthier white rice. It’s a great recipe for a quick and budget-friendly dinner perfectly for 4 people. Our recipe focuses on convenience and efficiency in that it can be cooked in just one rice cooker with all the ingredients ready. Add ons such as a bowl of miso soup that’s high in probiotics, a good portion of salad will turn your dinner to be a nutritious meal.



Ingredients

  • 2 cups of white rice grains

  • 2 heaped tablespoon ofAlchemy Fibre™️ For Rice

  • 400g of pork belly

  • 2 tablespoon of Japanese shoyu

  • 2 tablespoon of mirin (Japanese sweet wine)

  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil (together with mirin)

  • Pinch of sugar (optional)

  • 1 onion

  • Chopped spring onions

  • 2 tablespoon of ginger juice

  • 2 to 3 eggs



Instructions


Step 1

Cook the rice with Alchemy Fibre™ For Rice



Step 2

Sauté onions while rice is being cooked.



Step 3

Add pork belly to sautéed onions and stir fry until it is cooked and slightly charred (best to stir fry the pork in batches to achieve this).



Step 4

Add sesame oil together with mirin to the pork and toss to coat.Then, mix in shoyu, a pinch of sugar, and 2 tsp of ginger juice.



Step 5

Add marinated pork belly with sauce into the rice cooker when rice is 2/3 cooked.



Step 6

Crack 2 – 3 raw eggs into a well made in the center of the rice cooker when it is nearly cooked.

Step 7

When cook time is up, give the rice a good stir and top with chopped spring onions.
